The Campaign Spot

When Geraldine Ferraro Attacks

Geraldine Ferraro offers a great start to our mornings.

She makes a strange choice of attack dog. She complains about Republicans voting in the Democratic party, and says she can’t imagine a single Democrat voting in the GOP primary this year.
She says she is “so disappointed in” Rep. John Lewis, she “could die.” She says Lewis could survive a primary challenge for opposing Obama, but doesn’t want to deal with it.
“John, between me and you and your millions of listeners, if Barack Obama were a white man, would we be talking about this as a potential real problem for Hillary? If he were a woman of any color, would he be in this position? Absolutely not.”
And then there’s more:

Clinton campaign finance committee member, former vice presidential candidate, and former Rep. Geraldine Ferraro, D-NY, told the Daily Breeze of Torrance, Ca., that, “If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position. And if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept.”
Of Clinton, Ferraro said that the press “has been uniquely hard on her. It’s been a very sexist media. Some just don’t like her. The others have gotten caught up in the Obama campaign.”

Awesome. Tell me again how the Democratic party is going to unify and forget about all this once they have a nominee.
