When ‘Support’ Means a Punch in the Gut

I heard it on the XM radio today, so I don’t know the exact speaker, but one of the folks addressing the crowd at the Vets for Freedom rally that Senator McCain addressed offered a thought about those who say our forces have failed in Iraq, and should be withdrawn immediately, but who simultaneously claim to ‘support the troops’, but not the mission: “This is like somebody coming along, punching you in the gut, and saying, ‘oh, I didn’t mean that for you, I meant that for your boss.’ We despise ‘support’ like that.”
