The Campaign Spot

Where Are The Cops From Chicago ’68 When We Need Them?

Protesters attacked Cub Scouts yesterday: “a busload of Cub Scouts were en route to the convention, where they were to present the colors to open the convention. A group of protesters–liberals, Obama supporters, or whatever–blocked the road, surrounded the bus, and attacked it, rocking the bus back and forth, denting and scratching the sides, and generally terrifying the children trapped inside.”

I actually doubt these people can be characterized as Obama supporters, or even liberals. They’re anarchists. Judging from Mark Hemingway’s experience, they’re anarchists who object to you taking their photo; apparently you have to go through the Anarchist Press Office to get your Official Anarchist Press Credential to take their picture.
Elsewhere, the Connecticut delegates were doused with bleach. When I heard that, I couldn’t help but think of the other reference to bleach in this campaign, Obama’s memory of a magazine article about a black man who tried to bleach his skin white.
