Former New Jersey governor Jim Florio became one of that state’s most hated figures when he raised taxes left and right, but most notably on toilet paper. Toilet-paper rolls were thrown over the fence at the governor’s mansion on a regular basis in protest.
I can’t see people throwing their iPods over the fence at the New York governor’s mansion. But doesn’t that seem like a perfect symbol to trigger a tax revolt?
UPDATE: Reader Kevin writes in, “throw those cheap, worthless set of headphones Apple supplies you w/ your iPod that has a lifespan of six weeks.”
