The Campaign Spot

Which Pacific Coast State Is Souring on Obama?

A few weeks ago, I noticed President Obama was “underwater” – the percentage disapproving of the job he’s doing was larger than the percentage approving – in quite a few states, and some surprising ones: Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Florida, Colorado, and Nevada.

Somehow I missed that he’s got a 48 percent to 50 percent split . . . in Oregon.

This is a state where Obama won with just under 57 percent of the vote, and McCain eked out 40 percent.
