A Whole Lot of New House Polls, With No Bad News for the GOP

Summary of The Hill’s poll of districts with freshman Democrats: Republican challengers Paul Gosar (AZ-1) , Adam Kinzinger (IL-11), Andy Harris (MD-1), Steve Pearce (NM-2), Steve Stivers (OH-15), Robert Hurt (VA-5), Cory Gardner (CO-4), Joe Heck (NV-3), Jim Renacci (OH-16), Mike Kelly (PA-3), and Scott Rigell (VA-2) should feel good but not yet done. Kinzinger and Kelly have the biggest leads.

Interestingly, based on the last two polls, in Virginia’s 5th district, Republican Robert Hurt is either ahead by 1 or ahead by 23.

In Michigan, Tim Walberg is tied with incumbent Democrat Mark Schauer, which is still a pretty good place for a challenger to be.

Meanwhile, in North Carolina, Civitas sees good news for GOP challenger Harold Johnson:

Democratic incumbent Larry Kissell is clinging to a slim one point lead in the race for North Carolina’s 8th Congressional District according to a new SurveyUSA poll released today by the Civitas Institute.

According to the poll of 450 registered voters in that district, 46 percent said they would vote for Kissell if the election for United States House of Representatives were today.  Forty-five percent of voters said they would vote for Johnson, and nine percent said they are undecided.

When looking at those who are most likely to vote in 2010, Johnson takes the lead by a 49 percent-44 percent margin.
