Who’s Better Off Now Than in 2008?

The 51 percent who say they’re worse off now than they were two years ago is bad for Obama . . . but I think the 35 percent who say they’re better off is worse. Considering the state of the economy — 9.8 percent unemployment, record high foreclosures, projections of minimal growth at best — it seems likely that a certain chunk of that 35 percent is saying “yes” out of loyalty or faith in Obama.

Actually, I’m sure there are some Americans who are better off now than they were two years ago: Gun-shop owners, Juan Williams, Fox News Channel advertising sales directors, all of the new GOP members of Congress . . .
