Why Is Hillary in Texas Tonight?

Like Byron’s analysis, I had wondered if Hillary Clinton’s decision to go straight to Texas this evening, and then spend several days there, instead of Wisconsin (the next state to vote, a week from now) was a mistake.

My Wisconsin politics guy calls my attention to this poll, noting that Obama is up, 46 percent to 44 percent. (The pollsters note that Obama’s margin grows significantly if the turnout among young voters and African-Americans is up, as it has been in other states.)
There’s a very good chance that by the end of tonight, Obama will be on a seven-state winning streak. If Hillary Clinton’s strategists don’t try to break that streak by making a real push in America’s Dairyland, then I can’t understand what they’re doing over there.
Also note that among Republicans, “Public Policy Polling said U.S. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) had a 53%-32% advantage over former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.”
