Will Obama’s Crowds Still Chant, ‘Race Doesn’t Matter’?

In South Carolina, Barack Obama’s supporters chanted, “race doesn’t matter” during the candidate’s victory speech. I think a lot of candidates who may not agree with all of Obama’s views found that to be a wonderful moment, a popular confirmation of Martin Luther King’s call for a nation where not just his children but all “will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”

Will we ever hear that chant again? After the candidate has declared, “race is an issue that I believe this nation cannot afford to ignore right now”?
