When Arlen Specter tells a crowd of constituents, “I could be somewhere else. I don’t get any extra pay — I don’t have any requirement to be here,” does he mean, I could be somewhere besides this town-hall meeting, or does he mean, I could be somewhere besides the U.S. Senate?
Because it sounds like the crowd was ready for that latter option.
