Before You Promise More Jobs, Try Keeping Your Earlier Promises

If I were advising the Obama administration and its allies in Congress, I would tell them to take a breath in between explaining why the stimulus bill hasn’t dented the unemployment rate and touting their latest tax-raising “cap and trade” legislation as a “jobs bill.”

If you’re going to justify your legislation based on your ability to assess whether it will create jobs, it would help if anything you’ve passed before had actually, you know, created jobs.
