The Defense Department says an Army Ranger from Joint Base Lewis-McChord was shot to death in a firefight Friday in Afghanistan.
The 26-year-old from Long Beach, Calif., Sgt. Thomas MacPherson, was deployed with the 75th Ranger Regiment.
The News Tribune reports ( http://bit.ly/TT42Jg) he was on his fourth deployment to Afghanistan and had deployed once to Iraq. He’s the 28th Lewis-McChord soldier to die this year in Afghanistan. . .
