Chicagoland: Dwyane Wade’s Nephew Shot at a Convenience Store

A nephew of NBA superstar Dwyane Wade was one of five people wounded in a gang-related shooting at a South Side convenience store Thursday night that also left one man dead.

The shooting happened when two men entered the Bishop Golden Store in the 1400 block of West 79th Street and opened fire at 6 p.m., police said.

Shawndell Harris, 22, of the 9100 block of South Perry, was killed. The wounded ranged in age from 16 to 25, police said. Police called the shooting gang-related.

Wade issued a statement confirming his nephew was involved.

“I don’t have all of the details at this time,” Wade said. “My thoughts and prayers are with all involved, including my nephew and sister.”. . .
