Six Hurt As ATV Plunges Off Cliff

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. — Two of the six people injured when the all-terrain vehicle they were on plunged over a cliff in the middle of the night in western Massachusetts remain in serious condition.

South Hadley District Fire Chief David Keefe says some victims may have tumbled as much as 700 feet when the ATV went over the cliff in or near Skinner State Park at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

He says it took 55 rescuers about four hours to rescue the victims.
