Underreported News: No, Jefferson Wasn’t Dropped From The Texas Curriculum

It’s pretty amazing to watch revisionists melting down when they find out that, they too can be revised. The attention grabber the Left seized upon most is the notion that Jefferson has somehow disappeared from the history books. Has he? No. But, Lowe pointed out, Jefferson remains in the standards for U.S. history and government, and is second only to George Washington in the number of times his name is mentioned in the social studies standards. “To say that the State Board of Education has removed him (Jefferson) from the (curriculum standards) is inaccurate and irresponsible,” Lowe said in a news release. “No study of American history would be complete without his inclusion.”
