Re: The Worst Police Shooting Yet

I’d urge everyone to read David’s piece on the shooting of Botham Shem Jean. As David notes, implicit in the defenses of the officer is a terrible and dangerous conceit: namely, that cops are in some way different than non-cops even when they are not acting as cops. Kevin and I talked about this idea at length on today’s episode of Mad Dogs and Englishmen.
