The Met Police are investigating the British government’s breach of its own lockdown rules between May 2020 and April 2021. The Daily Mirror reports that among other images the police possess a photograph of Boris Johnson holding a can of beer at his surprise birthday party (organized by his wife) in June 2020. Downing Street has confirmed that staff “gathered briefly” but claim that Johnson only stayed ten minutes.
