Well, well, well – the Iraqi archives are beginning to reveal their secrets. Documents obtained by the Daily Telegraph from the bombed-out Iraqi intelligence HQ seem to show Germany’s intelligence services attempted to build closer links to Saddam’s secret service last year. Most interesting is the revelation that the Iraqis offered to give lucrative contracts to German companies if the Berlin government helped prevent an American invasion of the country.
