Caught Out

Despite a close challenge from the Guardian and the Financial Times the Independent is probably Britain’s most irritating newspaper, not least because of its Chicken Little take on global warming, one aspect of which has been dire warnings of the impact of cheap air travel. “The cut-price airline ticket is, ” terrified readers were told back in May, ” fuelling a boom that will make countering global warming impossible,” which makes it all the more surprising to read this:

“The Independent and Independent on Sunday have teamed up with American Airlines to offer readers the chance to fly to New York for only £10 return, including tax. 140 pairs of return tickets can be won.”

Scott Burgess (who else?) has more.
