I posted last month here an item asking, “Why Is Trump Renominating Chai Feldblum to the EEOC?” There’s no good answer, and this week Powerline notes that she has removed the standard-issue portraits of President Trump and Vice President Pence from her office. Maybe that will get the administration’s attention.
As I discussed before, Ms. Feldblum is a liberal activist and it is inexplicable that Trump should renominate her as one of the five members of the closely divided U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, a very powerful agency and one that, alas, operates generally outside the usual chain-of-command in the executive branch — making it all the more important that the president appoint only good people to it. The administration should withdraw her renomination.
