Insult to Injury

Watching Jimmy Kimmel’s attempt first to understand, and then provide clever commentary on the latest news emanating from John Durham’s investigation into the origins of the federal government’s inquiry into the relationship between Donald Trump and Russia hurt a little extra on the day of P. J. O’Rourke’s passing.

It’s difficult to fathom two people — one full of effortless grace, the other, ham-handed acridity — with more inversely proportional relationships between their talent and self-regard.
