It’s a bit of a step up from celebrity moms: In a new video, four-time MVP LeBron James encourages young people to enroll in an Obamacare plan before the end of the month.

“The deadline to enroll is March 31,” the Miami Heat star says, showing off a “Get Covered” basketball. “You never know when you might take a hit.”

The ad will air during NBA games on ESPN, ABC, TNT, NBA TV, and local stations in the coming weeks.

In a recent post-game interview, James explained why he decided to help promote the law: “Any way I can help the president, that’s pretty cool,” he said after Wednesday’s loss to the Brooklyn Nets.

“It’s almost like car insurance,” he told Bleacher Report. “You want to put yourself in a position where — you hope you never get into an accident — but if you do, you want to be secure. And I think a lot of young adults and African Americans as well are afraid because they are not even educated about it. And hopefully my voice, and hopefully the other people who’ve done it, can get them more knowledgeable about it.”

Former NBA players Magic Johnson and Alonzo Mourning both appeared in ads last month promoting the law.
