News from Oslo’s Aftenposten (although not, disappointingly, via my ‘Norway guy’): a Kurd
now living in Norway has applied to change his name from, er, Saddam Hussein. It’s hardly
the poor guy’s fault, but apparently his name “has meant nothing but trouble.” Needless to say, that
other Saddam in Baghdad didn’t offer to change his name instead.
