That’s interesting, Kathryn, if unsurprising. I note with some amusement the delicate way in which ‘prince’ Turki al-Faisal refers to those changes that actually have been made to what his nasty little kingdom is pleased to call a syllabus: “We eliminated what might be perceived as intolerance from old textbooks that were in our system.”

“Perceived” as intolerance?

It might be useful in this context to refer back to the story from a few weeks ago that there had been a sharp increase in visas issued to Saudis this year thanks to “a new student scholarship program funded by the government of Saudi Arabia, which encourages students to pursue their studies in the U.S.”

The U.S. government is, apparently, thrilled.
