Michael, Parson Williams’ comments were, as one has come to expect, asinine. He’s an idiot, and a malign one at that. That said, there’s an interesting, and revealing, difference (I’ve highlighted it in bold) in the way that the Daily Telegraph and the Iranians reported one particular section of his speech:
Daily Telegraph: “The indigenous Christian community throughout the region has suffered from being associated with the American global project, and indeed the British global project as part of the American global project.”
Press TV (Iran): “Dr. Williams further added that the indigenous Christian communities throughout the region are feeling guilty over the American and British global projects.”
