Wishing You a Merry Christmas Since 1955

This retro, cool image harks back to the early days of National Review, when with gladness, conservatives of old — Buckley, Chambers, Kirk, Burnham, Bozell, Meyer — launched a movement that changed the world.

That movement carries on today in these precincts in no small part thanks to the many efforts and programs of National Review Institute, the Buckley-created non-profit journalism think tank that owns your favorite magazine and website.

We will call the magazine and website “NR, Inc.” In recent months we held a webathon to raise funds for this (distinct!) institution. Many of you gave. We love you for it! But be not confused: There too is a need for supporting NRI, now engaged in its end-of-year Fund Appeal. Its goal is to raise $200,000. We’re half the distance to the goal, and maybe just a few yards more, which means — much more help is needed.

We have to count on you for that. Persuasive cases as to why you should be like Ebeneezer (after his visits from apparitions) have been made by John O’Sullivan, Andy McCarthy, Rick Brookhiser, Jonah Goldberg, Kathryn Jean Lopez, and many more.

Be persuaded! Donate to NRI here. And have a very Merry Christmas.
